If you are interested in gardens, then there are Beth Chatto at Elmstead Market, or Hyde Hall near Chelmsford. For historic properties we can suggest Melford Hall or Kentwell Hall, both near Sudbury, or Layer Marney Tower and Hedingham Castle.Pretty villages are near by at Lavenham, Kersey and Clare, as well as market towns such as Halstead and Sudbury.
